As the first web site dedicated entirely to graffiti style fonts this collection offers commercial licensing &/or free downloads of virtually all of the first graffiti typefaces ever developed, the most sophisticated fonts in the genre and authenticity that only actual graffiti writers can provide. ![]() ![]() Since 1999 We've worked to both design & collect the most full featured, advanced, digital fonts for building wildstyles, handstyles, throwies, blocks & more with graffiti letter styles from the old school to the new. Ranging from the simply straight letters, graffiti fonts inspired, to the gothic and calligraffiti styles. The Graffiti Fonts® collection is the first & largest collection of authentic graffiti style typefaces ever assembled. So enough with the graffiti history, let’s go straight to the graffiti letter styles! We have compiled the handstyles from 61 different graffiti writers rocking complete alphabets, to inspire you and to give you examples of some really different graffiti letters. Because of that it is considered an advanced style of writing and can take years of dedication to master. Wildstyle is an example of how the new generation took the lessons of flow and momentum that was taught to them by the older writers and pushed the letters into more abstract shapes and designs that verge on being a secret code that only people who are familiar with this style can read. Throw-ups are now recognized as a middle ground between putting up a simple tag and doing full pieces and they became the basis for what graffiti would evolve into since much of the earlier throw-ups emphasized losing the lines between the letters to give them momentum and flow.įrom this Wildstyle was invented which was purposely distorting the letter anatomy as much as possible and still trying to maintain the letter’s original shape. Throw ups emphasized the flow between the different letters layering them on top of one another and the blockbuster style took the opposite approach by taking letters and spacing them evenly apart from one another and adding the 3-dimensional aspect to the letters. But as the art form evolved we got throw-ups and blockbuster styles, both were a step in the direction towards the larger more complex style you see in graffiti today. In the early days of the New York scene however it was just about putting up your tag and no one really thought of or approached letters outside of the font and style that people saw on a daily basis in newspapers and magazines. What is also interesting to note is this style never evolved into the throw-up styles that came out of New York and still today it has its monochromatic old English font. This stylish font features thick, angular letters with a classic graffiti vibe and offers uppercase letters only. Today we know it for being the iconic script that perfectly represented the low rider and hip-hop culture that emerged from California. Express yourself with this awesome free graffiti font. Cholo or placas writing is shown in photographs going back as far as the 1930s and 1940s, and unlike the New York scene it was not decorative in any way it was formed strictly as a functional form of signs and codes for street gangs to mark their territory. Originally it was believed that Graffiti originated out of New York but in actuality it started decades before in Los Angeles. The 5 styles in this layered type system: Fill, Drip, Outline Fat and Fade, can be stacked in various combinations to add fill, detail & outline styles to any piece. Shop: Get Free Stickers and Free Graffiti Supplies Letters, symbols & artwork in this font will connect & interlock to create realistic but legible wildstyle pieces. There are plenty of different styles but today we are only going to cover the most common styles and ways writers put their tag up. ![]() What any beginning writer needs to know is the history of graffiti, and the importance of graffiti letters and how to handle them. Graffiti letters seem cute and cool looking, and what’s rather interesting about it is that it’s the kind of cool that looks unusually or is entirely different from those common fonts that we see in front of our computer screens. You could argue that Graffiti is America’s Rock n Roll take on art, and in the last 20 years it has taken form in our generation as one of the dominant artforms in the world and is a global phenomenon. ![]()

Bringing multiple images together to compose a single piece of art is the place where Photoshop shines the brightest. In the world of photo editing software, Photoshop is the master when it comes to image composites. Every change you’ve made is final, and the original file will be altered. Sure, you can undo actions using the history panel and use a tool, such as adjustment layers/ Smart Objects, etc., but once you hit the Save button, that’s it. With Photoshop, it’s important to always make a backup image on your hard drive. You can always go back to the original image with ease. What do I mean when I say that edits are “non-destructive”?īasically, every adjustment you make to images is made to a separate copy with the original file of the image remaining unchanged. One of the more important features of Lightroom is that all of the edits you make to an image are non-destructive. That’s why Lr is more convenient for raw files than Ps. All the adjustment sliders found in Adobe Camera Raw standalone can be found in Lr, too, so you’re not missing anything if you choose to use it. ![]() Lightroom is a photo editor that automatically renders Raw files and offers lens corrections to boot. While Camera Raw works just fine with the Raw format, it adds a separate step to your workflow that isn’t really needed. Photoshop doesn’t have its own Raw file engine and needs to open a separate window with Adobe Camera Raw to work with Raw files. Metadata is especially important in web design and SEO, and being able to use presets to automatically add metadata is a huge time saver.Ĭollections and Smart Collections in Lightroom are designed to make managing and accessing your photos quick and easy, and Photoshop has no capabilities to handle multiple images in this way. Sure, you could use Adobe Bridge instead, but Lightroom is far superior – see Adobe Bridge vs Lightroom.Īdobe Lightroom also provides everything you could ever need from an image editor in terms of metadata, keywording, and searching. ![]() If you use multiple catalogs, you can select “Prompt me when starting Lightroom,” which will automatically allow you to open exactly those photos that you need.Īdobe Photoshop has no such abilities, let alone Photoshop Elements. One source of confusion for beginners using Lightroom is the folder structure, which references your computer’s hard drive, but doesn’t track changes made outside of Lightroom – this can cause ‘missing images’, crashing, or other Lightroom related problems. You can forget about storing your images in folders and subfolders and forgetting where they are. Lightroom’s database and catalog system allow photographers to keep all their images organized. Photoshop is made for exceptionally powerful image manipulation and edits, although you may need a powerful computer to handle large PSD files – see the best laptops for Photoshop.īut how do these differences play out on a practical level? By using Lightroom, you’ll be able to make edits to just about any image file in no time. Lightroom is a photo editor made for a photographer’s workflow and efficient editing of your photos. For this reason, the unusually high abundance of iridium in the clay layer at the Cretaceous–Paleogene boundary gave rise to the Alvarez hypothesis that the impact of a massive extraterrestrial object caused the extinction of dinosaurs and many other species 66 million years ago, now known to be produced by the impact that formed the Chicxulub crater. Iridium is found in meteorites in much higher abundance than in the Earth's crust. Important compounds of iridium are chlorides and iodides in industrial catalysis. The dominant uses of iridium are the metal itself and its alloys, as in high-performance spark plugs, crucibles for recrystallization of semiconductors at high temperatures, and electrodes for the production of chlorine in the chloralkali process. Iridium is one of the rarest elements in Earth's crust, with estimated annual production and consumption of only 7.3 tonnes (16 thousand pounds) in 2018. Smithson Tennant, the primary discoverer, named it after the Greek goddess Iris, personification of the rainbow, because of the striking and diverse colors of its salts.
